Tribute

Eva Margaret McDonald nee Cullis was born on June 22, 1922 the fourth child of James Patrick and Ada Jane Cullis nee Williams of Tocumwal New South Wales.

Eva left Tocumwal during the war years to train as a nurse in Melbourne. She passed her exams with credit and graduated as a Registered Nurse on November 26, 1946.

On September 6, 1947 she married Evan Douglas McDonald and moved to the family farm at Beveridge Victoria. In 1951 she gave birth to a daughter, Susan.

Widowed in October, 1957 she moved with her 6 year old daughter to Melbourne and resumed her nursing career. Eva worked at various hospitals, attaining the position of Director of Nursing at Mayday Hills Hospital, Beechworth where she remained until her retirement.

Eva then moved to Albury where she lived for many years. Due to ill health she then relocated to Queensland to be near her daughter.

Eva passed away four years later aged 83. Her three siblings predeceased her and she is survived by her daughter and two grand children.
