Tribute

A tribute created by Justin Beaudoin, for his grandfather.

Papa – How Lucky I Was.

Everyday of my life,
I always knew
How lucky I was
To have my Papa

Every Time we played tee-ball
To the time When I accidentally broke that plate,
You were always there to help me
Even since I was eight.

I remember those days,
I always looked forward,
You took me to Marty’s
To ‘get my ears lowered.’

All the times we spent together,
All the hours and minutes we had.
And with every single moment,
You made me so glad.

No matter what happened,
With everything you did,
You did with a smile,
When I was a kid.

You never really fussed,
That’s why I was scared,
When they told me that day,
How you had faired.

You know when they told me,
I never really believed
How much pain you were in,
Until I could see.

I could not believe
When I heard over the P.A.
That you had left me,
On that faithful day.

I knew in a moment,
That you were gone.
I knew God had told you
It was time to go on.

In that moment,
My life had changed.
--

But then I realized,
How everyday of my life,
How lucky I was
To have my Papa.
